Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy
Shockwave Therapy is rapidly becoming one of the most effective non-surgical treatments for various chronic conditions, including:

-
Plantar Fasciitis / Fasciopathy
-
Achilles Tendinopathy
-
Rotator Cuff and Shoulder Impingement Injuries
-
Tennis or Golfer's Elbow / Elbow Tendinopathies
-
Patellar Tendinopathy (Jumper's Knee)
-
High Hamstring Tendinopathy
-
Trochanteric Bursitis (Lateral Hip Pain / Greater Trochanteric Pain Syndrome)

Shockwave therapy involves applying a series of energetic shockwaves to the targeted area, which induces a pro-inflammatory response. This stimulates increased blood circulation and metabolism in the region, accelerating the body’s natural healing process. The shockwaves also help break down damaged tissue and calcifications.

Shockwave Therapy offers significant benefits for chronic conditions: it’s clinically proven to aid recovery and, in comparison to invasive surgery, carries fewer risks and allows for a quicker return to normal activities. No medication or anaesthesia is required, and most patients experience minimal to no discomfort after treatment.

A course of 3 to 6 sessions is typically recommended, depending on the condition. This may be complemented by additional manual treatment and guidance from the Osteopath managing your care. We offer an inclusive package for the initial consultation and the first three treatments. Subsequent sessions are priced individually based on the specific condition. Optimal results are usually seen 6 to 8 weeks after completing the treatment.

Please note that a full consultation is required before your first shockwave treatment, which will include assessing for any contraindications. If you have any diagnostic test results or previous investigations, please bring them to your first consultation.
